What is the Future Teachers of Catawba County Scholarship?
The Future Teachers of Catawba County scholarship is focused on high school seniors who have a desire to teach in Catawba County Schools.

​The Catawba County Schools Education Foundation was established to support Catawba County Schools' students with innovative learning opportunities. The Education Foundation will support promising educational practices, working with our teachers and with our community business partners, funding a range of projects from teacher classroom grants to district-wide educational opportunities.

Who may apply?
Any high school student from a Catawba County Schools’ high school in his or her senior year may apply.

What is the scholarship amount?
The CCS Education Foundation will award two $2,500.00 scholarships for the 2020-21 school year.

When is the application due?
Completed applications are due April 22, 2020.

What is the process?
The application consists of several components – demographic information including financial information, a video introduction, an essay, transcripts, and three recommendation letters.  After your application is reviewed by the CCS Education Foundation Scholarship Committee, finalists may be invited to interview with the scholarship committee.  Final announcements will be made at each winner’s senior awards ceremony.

How do students submit their completed application?
Students should create a Google Drive Folder in their CCS student account.  This is where they will house their introductory video as well as their essay.  Students must create a sharable link to these two files to submit within their application.  Once these are complete and they are ready to fill out the application, please have them visit https://tinyurl.com/CCSFutureTeacher.  There will be a section at the end where they will provide links to their video and essay.

Their transcripts and three recommendation letters should be sent either by school courier or by mail to:

All components of the application must arrive in the Catawba County Schools Human Resources department by 5:00 PM on April 22, 2020, in order to be considered.
